Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission is composed of 8 residents and
1 student liaison; appointed to advise the City’s Parks and Recreation staff and
the Council on the development and operation of parks and recreation programs.

The Commission studies and advises on issues related to parks and
recreation by hearing presentations from private individuals, special interest
groups and staff members. The Commission is expected to:

• Provide leadership in developing a comprehensive parks and recreation program
  for city residents of all ages.
• Be familiar with the types of recreation programs and parks that residents
  need and want.
